NDM-1Another New Wave Of Medical Crisis!

Highly cautious! Important and alarming warning to all people! After the world had stabilised the wave of fear and raiding of Influenza A HINI and SARS ,another extreme nightmare had stealthy creeping into human medical "firewall".According to ABC news, a  type of antibiotic resistant superbug comprises a bacterium containing an enzyme gene calling NDM-1 which originated from India and Pakistan had traveled through  medial tourists that seeking plastic surgery in South Africa. More specifically it was a gene mutation or enzyme called New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase which named after New Delhi, the capital of India. 


NDM-1 was first identified in December 2009 in which a Swedish patient felt ill in New Delhi with Klebsiella pneumoniae infection. Currently a lot of current powerful antibiotics had to raise their white flags towards it as it made bacteria resistant to most antibiotics.A Belgian man involved in accident became the first known fatality although being administered colistin, a powerful antibiotic Scientist had said that NDM-1 "was impervious to all antibiotic treatment"

This would severely threatened the safety of people especially for victims who were now  facing natural disasters in Pakistan,Cuba, China and certain districts that were lack of clean water and daily commodities as the "superbug gene" could widespread and easily diversified throughout the world by attaching from one  bacteria to another by horizontal gene transfer. According to current analysed and researched, symptoms that usually surfaced when got infection were pneumonia, urinary tract infection and bacteremia.


So far the patients who had treated at hospital in Nottingham and London were under quarantined and according to estimations, scientists in joint with researchers mentioned that presumably there would be no new antibiotic being born in one decade. Hence, if this figures are true, how many life of innocent people will be grab away if there is a sudden tremendous outbreak of this catastrophe!


While for Malaysian, we have been peripherally comfort and assure by our health minister that all our courageous forefront health department are keep an eye on the progression of matters while waiting patiently for further instructions from WHO. Anyway, cordially to say that I really do not dare to fully entrust and put high confidence in our medical precaution and measures as well as health minister for even the current dengue and rat urine disease that had already carried away many precious life was still unresolvable by our health department. Anyway, I am sincerely praise for the spirit of forefront medical and health care workers who are risking their life in combating the previous wave of influenza A HINI although a high number of death and infection cases being recorded so far.


Besides, I also doubted that why our esteemed health minister did not had the intention to enforce examined and detailed checking at all airport and checkpoint since they couldn't even utterly preventing influenza A HINI from poaching this beautiful nation. How come they are so confidence at this critical moment? Citizens are being boring and fed up by all the surface and butter polishing on how much and what kind of measures had been taken as at the end, it was futility and arising of grouses. In the path we anticipate on our government,  public can still take initiative prevention by taking care on our own personal hygiene like avoid eating contaminating food and often wash your hand with cleaning agents besides praying for the clemency and mercy of God.
